X Factor 2010: Mary Threatened to Quit

Poor Tesco Mary – she’s reportedly finding quite difficult to live in the X Factor 2010 household, especially the constant partying of the younger contestants.

The show’s vocal coach commented to The News of The World:

“It was very difficult for her in the beginning. But I sat her down and we talked. She needed to gain a lot of confidence. As a middle-aged woman, she didn’t feel like she fitted in with all these young kids who were bouncing off the walls.

“She kept saying: ‘I don’t feel I belong here.’ She finds it difficult to sing pop songs like Lady Gaga’s Telephone which she didn’t grow up with and doesn’t know.”

Mary is much more original than many of her counter parts though. She could be one of the first women to actually make a name for herself past 50.

SuBo comparisons must also be fairly annoying for her – the only similarity being they are both women of around the same age.

At the same time bitter Storm has been having a pop at her saying he can’t see the public connecting with her because of her age.

Poor Mary….but we love her and think she could be the dark horse of the X Factor 2010. We would hate to see her go out like Daniel Evans did a couple of years back.

  1. What, she can’t learn new songs?
The young people have to sing different genres too.
As for needing to gain confidence, her early interviews showed that she’s quite confident to the point of arrogance.
She didn’t want to be compared to SuBo.
Believe me Mary, you’re no SuBo.
