Poor Duffy Thinking of Giving Up After Sales Crash

Duffy Live

Time was Duffy and Adele we’re seen as being parallel artists. However, after her latest single just sold 4,000 copies in its first three days when it was released before Christmas (when really sales should be pretty high), and her new album “Endlessly” charted at number 9 it seems she’s got a bit down about her career.

The Mirror reported a source as saying “She’s really down about the last album, Endlessly….It didn’t sell well and charted terribly and she isn’t trying again and making a comeback….She wants to live a quiet life and start over.”

Now “sources” say a lot of things, so we were hoping it wasn’t true…but then a reresentative for her said: “Duffy is taking a break before starting work on her next album.”

It also seems as though she is without management at the moment. So it looks like there is some truth in the matter.

Seeing Adele hit her peak in popularity can’t have helped either.

Now while that Pepsi add she did amongst of the most annoying 3o seconds of TV we’ve seen, she did make some decent tunes and was brilliant live so it’s sad that she could be away for some time.

However, might we suggest that getting rid of her main songwriter Bernard Butler (of Suede fame) and Jeanette Lea (the person who originally discovered her) we’re not the best ideas.
