Noel Gallagher Solo Album Complete and Ready for October Release Date

Noel Gallagher Solo Album

Here at TMM we are always on the side of Noel Gallagher. Oasis slit people into two groups, and it always surprised us how some of our friends could be on “Team Liam”. Now don’t get us wrong, when Beady Eye came out we were pretty excited, but for us it was always Noel who was genius behind Oasis’ success. The knowledge and wit that shone through in his interviews was more than able to back up his bravado, which didn’t always happened with his brother. Now though we’re going to have to put our money where our mouth is as Noel has completed his solo and direct comparison with Beady Eye, and arguments in the pub, are surely abound.

First of all here’s the tracklisting:

‘The Magic Can’t Be Right’
‘Stop The Clocks’
‘Freaky Teeth’
‘Mile High Moon’
‘Come On It’s Alright’
‘God Help Us All’
‘Don’t Stop Being Happy’
‘Red, White And Blue’
‘If I Had A Gun’
‘I Wanna Live A Dream (In My Record Machine)’

Now the beady eyed of you (geddit?) will spot two Oasis demos in there – and here’s them to have a listen to and get a feel for the potential tone of the album.

1) Stop The Clocks

2) I Wanna Live My Dream (In My Record Machine)

We don’t even mind if there’s not an upbeat song on the record so long as Noel can maintain the kind of philosopher with a guitar attitude that was displayed in these songs. We’re also willing to speculate,  on the basis of these songs, that some of the other tracks on the album will have been penned quite a few years ago.

So when will this be ready to hit the shops (if HMV etc are still going by then)? Well reports suggested that it would be available on October 3rd, and this seems to be backed up by recent comments from a source closer to Noel (sorry we can’t be more specific, this sort of briefing rarely comes with a name):

“Noel has been in LA recording and he is really happy with the tracks that have been produced.”

“The album is complete and now Noel is just waiting for Beady Eye to finish their tour before he gives fans any information on the album. He doesn’t want his music to be overshadowed by Liam in any way, shape or form. It may be a while before he feels ready to release anything but it is 100% ready to go.”

So not in the next month, but Beady Eye are touring up till June on their own and then will finish their festivals round up in late August.  October then seems spot on. If you can’t wait that long though there are rumours that “Come On It’s Alright” will be released in August.

All of this will come as a relief to Oasis fans as Liam has recently had the hammer out, trying to wedge the nail even more into the coffin of the band with comments like “Noel and me are over. This band isn’t a stop gap. It’s the real deal”

If Noel can smash it out the park with this album, then that will be just dandy with us.

On a slight side note we’re taking bets that this album will result in a “he stole my lyrics” type feud between the brothers, no doubt with the first offensive statement coming form Liam (though perhaps as Noel subtly wound him up with some comments in another interview he knew he would read).

  1. I wanted to see Everybody’s on the Run on there.

  2. We know already 4 songs
yea everybody’s on the run is one of his best

  3. I for one look forward to hearing what Noel comes up with. Beady Eye is Oasis by another name without the captain. They have grown stale in recent years with the exception of the Noel penned songs. Hopefully Noel won’t dissapoint us giving the critics room to crow. I wish Noel well and believe in him as an artist and a human being. A true working class hero.
