So there’s a rumour going around this morning that Naomi Campbell could be replacing Cheryl Cole on the UK version of the X Factor in 2011. It’s not quite as crazy as the rumour that Katie Price is out in the states fighting for a position on the US X Factor, but it still comes right out of left fields. While we didn’t like the sound of this at first, the more we think about it, the more genius an idea it is. This is mainly for three reasons:
1) She’s nuts – she’s just is. But not just mad in a kind of mild eccentric way, mad in a sort of claw-you-in-the-face kind of way. Her wikipedia page has it’s own sub section entitled “assault” and it lists five different incidents since 2000- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naomi_Campbell#Assault. Now see why we want to see her infront of the nation.
2) She knows nothing about music – now her critics say this is the main reason she shouldn’t be on the show. However, when you get a very proud woman who takes herself wayyyyy too seriously in front of the nation talking about issues she has no idea about, that’s good telly – and as Noel Gallagher pointed out X Factor is all about telly, and not about music. I mean while Cheryl Cole is (technically) a singer, it’s not like she’s got an innate knowledge of music and she did just fine.
3) She’s pretty – It’ll help keep the ratings up so the show as a whole doesn’t lose confidence.

“Naomi is seen as being of the calibre of celebrity needed to inject new glamour and maintain peak ratings.”
We know she’s been close to Simon Cowell in the past, so pleeaasee let the rumour be true.
