After a long wait the Take That Video for Kidz – and it’s got a fairly high production value. Here’s the video:
We really like this…it’s got a great hook and is quite a bit different from the boys. You never really know what you’re going to get from them.
The one gripe we’ve heard people express about the song though is Mark Owen’s voice. These are usually from people who would have forgiven him in his pre-affair days. We have to admit though his nasal Manchester vocals do get a bit grating after a while – and perhaps they do lack the sort of sinister edge the lyrics are looking for in the verses.
Plus are Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow merging on one voice? When we heard this on the radio it was assumed Robbie was singing the chorus, but in the video it looks like Gay Barlow is doing it mainly!
We reckon the song as a whole definitely is definitely in more of a Robbie style – so it will be interesting to see how his influence on the band plays out commercially.

I personally love Mark’s vocals. They’re not the most soothing, but TT’s got Gary for that. Mark gives TT a bit of quirkiness and eccentricity.

Actually the track for this song was made by Howard and Gary, not so much of Robbie there. And I think Mark’s voice
suits this song very well.
