For the record, Donny never had any public girlfriends, but when he did get married to Debbie, she received many death threats, but in those days they were a little harder to deliver. They didn’t have Facebook or Twitter or the internet, so if you really wanted to make your point heard, rather than an anonymous random rant, you actually had to take your letter to the post office and mail it. Too much hassle these days, cause you had to really mean it to bother. But there were many threats.
