If you don’t get Jedward then you’re pretty much screwed, especially as they have now chummed up with the leader of the free world, Barack Obama. We can feel your pain as it took us some time to get used to the boys, especially after their bootcamp round on the X Factor which made them seem a bit selfish. If you don’t remember here’s a quick jog of the memory: they interrupted and sang over a girl during their bootcamp audition, who subsequently got the boot. To be fair though it did look like there could have been some confusion…and the girl probably wasn’t a winner anyway. Without knowing Jedward as we now do though, it seemed like they could be a pair of shits. As it turned out this was totally wrong.
When Barack went over Ireland it would always be touch or go whether he would hate the bouncy twins or succumb to finding them endearing. Here’s the performance they gave for him:
No pulling their punches here then. After being introduced as the tonic for a beleaguered Ireland we reckon President Obama wasn’t expecting this performance. We hope he understood why it’s OK that they didn’t always sing in tune.
Jedward also got to meet Obama face to face after the gig and here’s what they had to tweet about it:

“We were talking to @BarackObama about the Jonas Brothers and Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus.”
Will be interesting to see if he starts following them now on Twitter. We doubt it.
Bush wouldn’t have played along with them so nicely.
