Our Thoughts? Running Scared is classic Eurovision fodder. One boy, one girl, brilliant white clothes and wistful glances. The song ain’t half bad either. It’s well put together with a nice cascading hook of a chorus to hold up the verses. The only problem is that it’s a bit vanilla and nothing we haven’t heard a million times before. If they can sing it well live though they could be onto a winner.
The problem though is at some points they sounded ever so slightly off key, and the performance is just them on stage with some dancers (also in the obligatory white). It’sa shame their voices will be much weaker on the night to how they sound in the video above.
Overall they remind us of a more upmarket, but less fun version of Same Difference, and we all know how popular they became (against all logic).
Chances? They were an initial favourite, but over time have been edged out. They need to put more into their performance to get the top spot. We reckon they’re pretty certain to come in the top 5.
The last years 3 years have seen the Eurovision fans go for something a bit different though. Maybe they can cash in on a feeling that the competition should return to normality.
