Cosmo Jarvis Makes A Return with "Gay Pirates"

Cosmo Jarvis has returned with a new album “Is the World Strange of Am I Strange?”, and Gay Pirates is th first single- and this new work is being touted as a “development from teenage talent to infallible tour de force.”  We wouldn’t necessarily disagree.

The song is a bit of a grower, as you try to adjust to the modern sea shanty.  As the song swells though you find yourself singing along…and then singing it on your way to work. The infantile nature on first listening is just disarming.. It’s a love song that takes a tongue in cheek look at homophobia which helps it more effectively ridicule its target, and the context of the song subtly helps put it into context of history.

Still, we reckon gayness between pirates would have been the rule rather than the exception. Here’s the song:
