While Cheryl Cole might be leaving blighty for the US X Factor, it seems that she hasn’t left everything behind…and this is causing a bit of trouble. Bosses have reportedly told her to drop phrases like “why aye” and “pet” because the American audience won’t be able to understand them. To be honest we’ve never heard her say the first….but the latter she uses like a full stop.
Here’s what one of The Sun’s famous sources said “Cheryl has been in the spotlight in England for a long time no and hasn’t been convinced to drop her accent yet.”
But apparently she is getting support in this from other famous Geordies – Ant & Dec have been telling her to keep the exressions as the US X Factor audience will warm to them. The source continued:
“Now Ant and Dec are backing her, she thinks it’ll give her the edge over other women on TV over there.”
Given how proud Cheryl is of her background, we don’t think there’s any way they are going to be able to wrestle these sayings off her – and that’s a good thing too.
