Matt Cardle is showing no signs that his ambitions have been satisfied by winning the X Factor. According to reports he has hired a team of people to help him look into cracking the States. When asked about his international plans he relied:
“I can’t wait. The next big dream is to have success in America. If I could pick any place in the world to play, I’d love to play Central Park or Madison Square Garden.”
So is he running before he can walk. Well that depends…mainly on whether Mr Cowell is fully behind his international expansion. If he is though, there is still a huge problem. The X Factor tour usually milks the winner for the cash from live performances at the cost of getting out an album for a little while. It also slows down media appearances. So if he comes out of this tour and starts focussing on the US, there might be a whiff from the British public that he’s a has been and drifted away a bit….a la Shayne Ward.
It’s good to have lofty ambitions…and Leona managed it…but there’s a huge risk. Let’s hope he gets his shot at performing on the new US X Factor which would give him a huge leg up.

As I understand it the US plan is Cowell’s. Matt Cardle is happy with it but if there’s a team of experts to launch him there, Cowell hired them, not Matt. I suspect the US thing is important this year regarding thr UK winner because of the XFactor US launch. Matt has said he’s keen to get an album out quickly in any event, and allegedly Syco have the same thinking. Personally, I have alot of faith that he’s going to break the XFactor mould. He’s hugely talented and seems mature and focussed. Best of luck to him.

In you dreams Matt, you’ll fade away next year. Matt wont last long because he is almost a carbon copy of olly murs, admittidly matt has a better voice than olly, put the public already know olly, so they wont bother following another singer who is very similar. Sorry matt, but if you crack america then i will eat my hat.
