Ooooo Amy Winehouse. I like her so much, but sometimes…just sometimes…I kinda feel a bit well…..disgusted. Don’t want to…just do. This happened most with that crazy cracked out gerbil video with Peter Doherty, and it’s kind of happened today again.
Why? Well this video of her came out of her performing in Brazil. She’s obviously out of her head again and not giving the best performance. Bearing in mind that reports say she’s getting 5 million quid for this set of gigs, you’d think she could professional about it. Instead she stumbles about like a drunk divorcee at a friend’s wedding – even falling down at one point.
AMmmmmmyyyy. Noooooooo. I love your music. You put out probably the number one album of the last decade. On Never Mind The Buzzcocks you seemed to channel the spirit of Oliver Read at his most witty. Since then though, its just gone down.
This here is clearly out of order. The fans are being really nice, and doing their best. They’re a great audience in this clip who are willing you on to do a good performance. You thought fuck them though really. Get wasted and be a tenth of what they expected from you. Not OK!
The difficulty comes though from the fact soooo many people have slagged you off to me in conversation – and I’ve defended you time and time again. Oh well…looks like I’ll just have to hold my hands up as wrong.
